Brown appointed president of Eagle Dist.

Phillip D. Brown is the new president and CEO of Eagle Distributors of Honolulu, Hawaii. The appointment was announced by Ed Doty, who will assume the position of chairman of the company, which he founded in 1972.

"Phil's leadership, experience and creativity has helped assure continued growth for Eagle," Doty said. "His new responsibilities also assure our retailers and customers of continuity in quality products and service."

Brown has been serving as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Eagle Distributors. The appointment also completes a restructuring of the company and its subsidiaries. John Doty was recently named president of JMD Beverages, David Doty as vice president for corporate development and Glenn Kawamura as vice president and controller.

Brown came to Eagle in 1986 from Coast Distributing in San Diego, CA, where he was director of sales and marketing. Prior to that, he had been president of Brown Distributing in Greensboro, NC.

Brown, a graduate of San Diego State University, is active in several community organizations, including Junior Achievement of Hawai. He also serves on the executive committee of the Waikiki Improvement Association, and is chairman of the Governor's Committee on Ending Litter. He was recently elected Hawai Director for the National Beer Wholesalers Association.
