Brothel runners facing jail.

TWO men face prison after being found guilty of running a brothel called Mr Magoo's, in Birkenhead.

Michael Kolokotroni, 49, and Adam Weir, 39, denied keeping the "Gentlemen's Club" in Grange Road East as a brothel between January, 2013, and a police raid last June.

But a jury trial at Liverpool Crown Court heard both had previous convictions for committing the same offence at the same address.

And, after nearly three hours of deliberations, the jurors found them unanimously guilty.

Mr Justice Edis said both faced custodial sentences, but he would grant them bail "because of mercy."

He said: "You are both family men and you can spend time making sensible arrangements."

Both will be sentenced on February 20, along with Kelly Reid, 40 - who rented the property and had already pleaded guilty.

Kolokotroni was convicted in April, 2012, for keeping a brothel for prostitution, while Weir was convicted in January, 2005. Both offences related to the Grange Rd East site.

Weir, of West Road, Birkenhead, said he and Kolokotroni, of Osmaston Road, were business partners. He said he knew the premises was a brothel, but that he was not involved in managing or organising it, and took no money from it.

Kolokotroni claimed he had "no knowledge" that the building was once again being used as a brothel.

The court previously heard the brothel contained mirrored ceilings and a wall covered in buckles.
