Bronco Offiah.

Martin Offiah went home to London yesterday as the first rugby player to be owned by two clubs - and walked straight into an international tug-of-war.

Rugby League's wonder winger confirmed his status as the highest-paid player in either code by signing dual contracts with the London Broncos and Bedford RU club worth over pounds 750,000.

The 29-year-old Offiah, who has agreed a four year deal with Bedford and a three-year contract with the Broncos.

Frank Warren-backed Bedford, with former England coach Geoff Cooke in charge, are paying the lions share of the pounds 300,000 fee to Wigan

England coach Jack Rowell is looking at Offiah as a possible replacement for record try-scorer Rory Underwood. But Offiah is also wanted by Great Britain Rugby League.
