Brits could be a hit in Bahrain; FORMULA ONE.

Byline: Adam Scriven

THREE British drivers start this afternoon's Bahrain Grand Prix in the top ten and there is plenty of scope for a profit by getting long of Sporting Index's British drivers' points quote of 14.7, writes Adam Scriven.

Paul di Resta's Force India has shown good pace all weekend and he starts fifth while Lewis Hamilton lines up in ninth despite a five-place penalty for an unscheduled gearbox change.

Another Brit, Jenson Button, will begin tenth after taking a gamble on strategy.

If they all finish where they start the make-up will be 13 but Hamilton and Button will be disappointed if they can't improve on their starting positions.

Hamilton has finished third in the last two races while Button was in the running for a podium in Malaysia before a pitstop blunder set him back. In China last week he used smart strategy to claim fifth place.

Bahrain is not a bad circuit for overtaking and Hamilton is one of the best wheel-to-wheel racers in the field and he looks set for an action-packed afternoon.

His team-mate Nico Rosberg starts from pole position, demonstrating the potential of the Mercedes, and if any of the trio finishes on the podium anything else is a bonus as 15 points are paid for a top-three finish.
