British boxing squad members slugging it out to be crowned the Welsh Amateur champion; BOXING.
Some of Wales' biggest hitters are still in the running for an ABA title, including GB squad members Fred Evans, Andrew Selby, Zach Davies and Lynsey Holdaway.
There are a number of intriguing bouts in prospect with several North v South encounters which will all be watched by newly-elected Welsh ABA president David Davies MP.
One of the standout contests in the men's draw sees Evans v Evans at 69kg with Dowlais ABC's Jamie, brother of two-time champion Ryan, taking on Olympic hopeful Fred of St Joseph's.
Fred's GB Boxing stablemate Selby (Splott ABC) locks horns with another Andrew, Colcot's Perry, at 52kg while Davies fights Craig Woodruff (Alway ABC) at 60kg.
In fact, it's Llantrisant ABC's Holdaway who gets the action started at 7.30pm when she faces Cathrine Gillen (Cardiff YMCA) in the ladies 54kg division before Ashley Brace (Heads of the Valley ABC), champion in 2010, goes up against Cwmcarn ABC's Rebecca Price at 60kg.
The winners will join Colcot ABC's Rachelle Tobin as the best in Wales. Tobin beat Catrin Lewis in the 66kg final last Friday to become her club's first WABA champion.
All three of Wales's Commonwealth Games medallists, Sean McGoldrick, Jermaine Asare and Keiron Harding, have all missed the championships due to injury.
Remaining finals: 49kg - Ben Baker (Cwmgors ABC) v Annes Rashid (Cardiff YMCA), 56kg - Daniel Chapman (Llantrisant ABC) v Jay Harris (Premier ABC), 64kg - Chris Jenkins (Cwmgors ABC) v Ashley Appleby (DEVA ABC), 75kg - Warren Sinden (Welshpool ABC) v Liam Williams (Church Place ABC), 81kg - Tom Lloyd (Barry West End ABC) v Charlie Moseley (Shotton ABC), 91kg - Robert Penn (Trostre ABC) v Lloyd Davies (Mountain Ash ABC), 91+kg - Andrew Wyn Jones (DEVA ABC) v Dorian Darch (Mountain Ash ABC)
