BringChivalryBack.com Awards Its "Chivalry Role Model of the Month" to Former New York Giants Star Athlete Frank Gifford.
Philadelphia, PA, July 16, 2015 --(PR.com)-- For consistently offering gestures of chivalry as recounted by his wife Kathie Lee Gifford on NBC's "Today Show," Frank Gifford, star athlete in the 1950s and 1960s for the NFL New York Giants, has been awarded the honor of "Chivalry Role Model of the Month" for June, 2015.
The recognition, presented by BringChivalryBack.com, recognizes noteworthy acts of chivalry, grandiose or small, which demonstrate the positive impact that chivalrous gestures by men can have.
This is the second consecutive month that the award has gone to a man with ties to the National Football League. Cam Newtown of the Carolina Panthers was the winner of the award for May.
During the June 23rd airing of the "Today Show," Kathie Lee Gifford and her co-host Hoda Kotb were discussing a news story about Derek Jeter. The story reported that while at a restaurant in Rome, Italy, Mr. Jeter and his girlfriend Hannah Davis had eaten pizza and had split the check, each paying their own bill. Kathie Lee expressed surprise at the story and discussed her husband's behavior when it came to picking up the tab at restaurants.
She remarked that in the 25 years they've been married, she had always seen him pick up the check when dining with a woman. She went further and said that there'd only been three or four episodes in all those years when they were in a group of both men and women that Frank Gifford allowed another man to pick up the check. She said even those rare occasions happened only because the other man had secretly gone to pay the check. Kathie Lee went on to say, "I find that one of the sexiest, greatest things about Frank."
Relationship expert John Rasiej of BringChivalryBack.com remarks, "When it comes to role models, and particularly in the world of sports, there have been all too many instances of poor behavior by men. When athletes of the past and present live up to being positive role models for boys and men of all ages, they create a great impact going forward."
Mr. Rasiej continues, "Having one's wife comment with such fervor about how this is a quality she admires greatly can underscore for men the added self-esteem they receive when offering such gestures."
BringChivalryBack.com aspires to rekindle the sincere practice of courteous behavior by men toward women. More information is available at www.BringChivalryBack.com and at the blog on that website.
