Brindon Addy in the running for best shop.
J BRINDON Addy Butchers in Hade Edge, Holmfirth, has made it to the final of the Butcher's Shop of the Year Awards 2016.
The business is one of three butchers shortlisted for the North of England Butcher's Shop of the Year in the annual awards run by the Meat Trades Journal.
Established in 1993, Brindon Addy Butchers completed a major PS175,000 extension and refurbishment project in 2014, which doubled the size of the shop.
The business, which sources beef, lamb pork from local farms, will find out if it has won on November 7, at the iconic Banking Hall in the City of London.
Brindon Addy said: "The project was purpose-designed to provide a springboard for future success, which has since been achieved.
"It transformed us from being a small traditional family butcher into a small food hall.
"We're over the moon to be among the Butchers Shop of the Year finalists. It's all down to the team here at Addy's. They remain the backbone of the business and our continuing success." Brindon Addy is well-known in the UK butchery sector.
He was the previous national chairman of the Butchers Q Guild, an exclusive group of 120 award-winning independent butchers across the country.
