Brill Baker is on a roll.

DANNY Baker's superb from The Cradle To The Grave has got to be one of the most flawless TV comedy dramas ever made.

Every reference to working class life is in there, without any corny cliches. The stoic nature of the mum and dad are played magnificently by Peter Kay and Lucy Speed.

It's a testament to a generation that is sadly passing. The love of life is instantly recognisable.

I'm a Northern lad and my dad worked on the docks of the Manchester Ship Canal. The music soundtrack is so evocative. Every time I watch it I start welling up.

Danny Baker: Superb broadcaster, raconteur, fellow music geek and football fanatic. And writing genius. I really hate him now :-).

CLASS ACT: Kay and Speed
