Brierley Hill looking red-hot for Cup run; SCHOOLS FOOTBALL.

The English Schools' Heinz Ketchup Trophy third round takes centre stage this weekend and Brierley Hill and Dudley will be hoping to extend their winning run to seven when they take on South Northamptonshire at the Dell on Monday (7.30pm).

The Brierley Hill lads have been in top form this season, hitting 29 goals while conceding just one and they should be good enough to reach the last 32.

Cannock Under-15s are also unbeaten so far this season and they should overcome North Leicestershire in their third-round tie on Saturday.

There's a red-hot tie between King's Norton & South Birmingham and Coventry while Erdington & Saltley look favourites to beat Halesowen & Stourbridge at Edgcliff School on Saturday (10am).

Erdington warmed up for that match by beating Nuneaton 1-0 in the West Midlands League thanks to a Corey Malcolm goal, while Halesowen held Luton to a goalless draw in their challenge match.

Erdington were overjoyed at the calp of striker Stefan Moore to the England Under-15s side and he celebrated in style, scoring one of the goals in their 3-1 adidas Victory Shield win against Northern Ireland at Ballymena.

At county level, West Midlands Under-16s begin their preparations for the Midland Counties campaign by travelling to meet Nottinghamshire in a challenge match at Blidworth Colliery tomorrow (7pm).
