Springfield library seeks help with subscriptions

The Friends of the Springfield Public Library is seeking contributions to cover the subscriptions of periodicals ranging from The Washington Post to Fortune magazine, at costs ranging from $20 to more than $300.

Coalition to provide

free dinner for veterans

In celebration of Armed Forces Day, the Homeless Veteran Coalition is sponsoring a free turkey dinner for veterans, active service personnel and the National Guard and their families from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Eugene Moose Lodge, 710 McKinley St.

Entertainment will be provided by a color guard, a singing group and the Clean and Sober Motorcycle Club. For more information, call Bill Montana at 747-1580.

Adoption organization plans potluck event

Adoptive Families of Lane County is sponsoring its third annual Flower & Food Potluck on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Moss House Daycare Center, 1511 Moss St., Eugene. Please bring a potluck dish and a six-pack of plant starts to share, plus a planter pot for each of your children.
