Brexit protester makes Eddie Izzard beret angry.
COMEDIAN Eddie Izzard lost his head when a Brexit backer swiped his pink beret as he took part in a pro-EU march in London yesterday.
Despite wearing high heels, 54-year-old Izzard gave chase and his hat, which bore a British and an EU flag, was returned after police officers pinned the man to the floor.
After the incident, which was caught on video, Izzard said: "Somebody stole my hat. There were masked Brexit people, dark glasses, masked, skull teeth across. There was one guy... he went up and snatched my beret. He stole it."
He then praised the "fantastic" police. He said: "I got my beret back, but it's gone off as evidence - my beret is in evidence."
Thousands of people joined The March for Europe in London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Oxford, and Cambridge.
The demonstrators want to put pressure on the Government to delay activating the formal process of leaving the EU.
