Cambridge illustrated surgical pathology

This volume in the Cambridge Illustrated Surgical Pathology series is devoted to a challenging and controversial area in which the gradations of normal, precancerous, and cancerous conditions are difficult to tell apart. They are distinguished here, visually and through descriptive text. The focus is on malignant tumors, but inflammatory disorders and hyperplasias are also covered in detail. All diagnostic methods are addressed, including the light microscope as well as genetic, molecular, and immunologic modalities and interpretation of cytologic specimens. Some 300 color photomicrographs appear in the book and on the included CD-ROM. Lawton is director of Seattle Breast Pathology Consultants; he is the primary author and editor, but he credits five others with contributions (two with the Mayo Clinic and one each with the Moffitt Cancer Center, the U. of Washington Medical Center, and Massachusetts General Hospital).
