During the festive season of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Pink Caravan organisation is aiming to raise breast cancer awareness for the whole family in a campaign at the 27th Ramadan and Eid Fair.

The campaign, an initiative of the Friends of Cancer Patients Charitable Society (FoCP), is being held at the Expo Center, Sharjah, between 18th July and 10th August. It is the 8th consecutive year of FoCP's participation in the fair.

The main focus of the campaign is to raise social consciousness about breast cancer and encourage regular self-examination, an element integral for early detection and diagnosis of the disease. Early detection is critical to surviving breast cancer, which is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in women.

Dr. Sawsan Al Madhi, Secretary-General for the Friends of Cancer Patients Charitable Society and Head of the Pink Caravan Medical and Awareness Committee, said, "The main focus of our campaign during Ramadan is to raise the entire family's awareness of breast cancer and the importance of early detection. It is a pleasure to be a part of the festivities of Ramadan and Eid as it brings each segment of our society closer together."

Pink Caravan's booths will be functioning during weekends -- July 18th and 19th, July 25th and 26th and August 1st and 2nd, from 9.00 pm to 12.00 am.
