Brass Training and Production Center Opens in Shinas.

Shinas, August 2 (ONA) --- The Public Authority for Craft Industries (PACI) opened Training and Production Center for Brass in Shinas. The center aims at preserving brass industries, developing it for to enable craftsmen to produce high-quality brass works and providing them with the necessary knowledge about the methods of developing the brass works while preserving the identity of the national craft industries as well. The Training and Production Center for Brass comprised of a number of units and technical and training workshops for brass production. The center comprised of theoretical and practical training halls, in addition to brass works promotional exhibition. The center was equipped with the latest devices and scientific capabilities for producing and

shaping the brass works. The center also includes a number of administrative and service units plus locations designated for brass designing and shaping as per specialized methods by the use of special devices and tools for brass works. PACI has adopted a number of standards and programmes to be followed in designing and rehabilitating the training and craft industries production centers throughout benefiting from the experience and projects executed in the field of training on developed brass industries production. Opening the Training and Production Center for Brass in Shinas is accompanied with starting the implementation of the training programme for producing brass works for approximately twenty female trainees. The programme will include a number of lessons, theoretical and practical applications that rehabilitate the trainees with the necessary skills for producing and designing different brass products through highlighting the importance of brass industries and how far they are economically and socially linked with different categories of the society, in addition to familiarizing with equipments of melting, sorting, drawing and welding, as well as tools and equipment of engraving, molding, decorating, polishing and coloring. The training programme aims at familiarizing with techniques and methods used in producing brass works including various types of brass decorating and coloring, in addition to acquainting the trainees with the ways of producing brass works in a bid to develop the product by including more than one raw material. The programme will also familiarize the trainees with the tools that assist them in brass production, as well as acquainting with the techniques of forming and producing brass accessories and other decoration tools used in different occasions. Meanwhile, the trainees will be also familiarized with the principles of small enterprises management, planning and development of creative initiatives in the brass production, in addition to the promotional and marketing trends for promoting the craft industries in a bid to enhance economic and social sides and raising the purchase power. The programme also includes a number of educational topics in English Language and computer skills. Through the establishment of Training and Production Center for Brass, PACI seeks to enhance crafts capabilities in various craft industries through benefiting from the local environment resources to meet the local needs of craft products. PACI also aims at raising the culture of craft work and increasing the craftsman's income through raising his awareness on the significance of preserving the craft industries, which are economic and social heritage. --- Ends/SA/ KH
