Brand new song for the leaving of Liverpool.

HUNDREDS of children are to perform a new Liverpool anthem to wave goodbye to the Round the World Yacht Race 2002.

Seven choirs from across Merseyside are taking part in a mass performance of Liverpool Bids Farewell before the start of the world's longest yacht race on Sunday.

The performance on the steps of Merseyside Maritime Museum will kick off a day-long maritime celebration in the city.

Those performing will be members of the Jigsaw Music Theatre, Ellesmere Port; Monksdown primary school, Norris Green; Windsor community primary school, Toxteth; St Austin's Catholic primary, Aigburth; Broadgreen primary school, Rice Lane juniors, Walton, and St Joseph's Catholic primary school, Birkenhead.
