Boy band turns out for children's charity fundraiser.

A CHARITY evening held at a city bar last night featured classical boy band Blake.

The night at the Living Room, in Victoria Street, was arranged by television personality Paul Crone in aid of When You Wish Upon a Star, which makes dreams come true for children with life-threatening illnesses.

Blake are currently awaiting the 2008 Classical Brit Awards, for which they have been nominated for album of the year.

The presenter hosted a three-course dinner with Champagne reception.

But Mr Crone's fundraising efforts will not be all glamour, as he prepares to run the London Marathon in two weeks' time.

He said: "I am absolutely delighted to be hosting this event at the Living Room in Liverpool."

Mr Crone has raised nearly pounds 500,000 for various charities and is keen to smash the half a million pound barrier this Year.
