Boxing: Munroe eyeing a Martinez upset; Sky Sports 2, 9.30pm.

Byline: By Dan Williams

ENGLISH super-bantamweight champion Rendall Munroe has vowed to fight fire with fire when he goes for European glory tonight.

The Leicester southpaw will meet Kiko Martinez at Nottingham's Harvey Hadden Leisure Centre, where the Spaniard is 1-8 to retain his belt.

Martinez, 21, has a reputation as a big puncher and stopped highly-rated Irish prospect Bernard Dunne inside a round with a hail of left hooks to claim the European crown last August.

However, Munroe insists he is not afraid to go toe to toe with the champion if necessary.

He said: "Martinez was impressive against Dunne, but he looks like he's got one style.

"He is going to come out looking to throw heavy bombs. But we have a Plan A and B, and there's even a Plan C if needs be."
