Boxing: Morales for a late stoppage.

Byline: Paul Kealy

FIGHT fans are in for a treat tomorrow with several recordings of Erik Morales v Paulie

Ayala on Sky, the first of which is at 8am.

The bout, which takes place in the early hours of tomorrow morning in Las Vegas, is for the vacant WBC featherweight crown that Morales lost to Marco Antonio Barrera in June.

The Mexican gets a quick crack at reclaiming it because Barrera refused the WBC belt.

And he should prove too strong for Ayala in what is likely to be a brutal battle.

Ayala, who is really a blown-up super-bantam, is a pressure fighter and is sure to take it to Morales despite his camp suggesting he would mix it up a bit.

That's his style, and if he is to have any chance he needs to get inside as Morales has a big reach advantage.

Morales also has the edge in power and class and a great record against southpaws. He has lost only once in 42 contests, stopping 31 of his victims.

The most likely outcome is a late stoppage for Morales, who can wear down the tough but probably overmatched American by the end of the tenth.
