Bowls: Llanbradach players are remembered.

LLANBRADACHBC are running an in augural memorial tournament in memory of three members, Ellis Stanbury, Grenville Williams and David Nicholas.

The competition is being run in a pair, triple and rink format, the overall champion club having achieved the best combined results over the three disciplines.

The first two rounds of the Ellis Stansbury rinks, Grenville Williams triples and the David Nicholas pairs have already been played and the results are listed below, along with the draw for the semi-finals.

The semi-finals (10am start) and finals (3.30pm) of all three disciplines will be held at Llanbradach BC this Sunday, August 3, where the remaining competitors will be battling it out for the trophy along with pounds 300 first prize.

The runners-up receive pounds 150 with pounds 50 going to the third placed club.

Spectators will be made very welcome with refreshments available.

SOUTH Glamorgan, Welsh county champions for the last three years, reached the final for a seventh time in the last eight years, when they travelled to defeat Monmouthshire at Pontymister Athletic by 27 shots.
