Bowling system.

Representatives from GM Vehicle Manufacturing/ North America celebrated the holidays by donating a revolutionary wheelchair bowling system to the Michigan Paralyzed Veterans of America (MPVA).

Known as the IKAN Bowler (IKAN is taken from the Greek word ikanos, meaning enable), this system reportedly allows even high-level quads to bowl against able-bodied players.

Sanctioned by the American Bowling Congress and Women's International Bowling Congress, the IKAN consists of a universal mount that attaches directly to a wheelchair's leg rests and a parabolic arm that mimics the same action as if the ball were released from someone's hand. The wheelchair user controls the speed, direction, and timing of release, giving him or her total control over the game.
