Bowie tribute concert plan; MusIc.

DAVID Bowie's life and songs will be celebrated in an all-star memorial concert at New York's Carnegie Hall.

The March 31 show will feature more than 20 big name artists and had already been arranged before the star's death from cancer.

Organisers said: "The unexpected death of David Bowie has turned this into a memorial concert."

The show will feature some of rock and pop's biggest names, backed by Bowie producer Tony Visconti's house band, Cyndi Lauper, The Roots, and Bettye Lavette.

Tickets went on sale on Monday, immediately following Bowie's death, and have now sold out. Previous concerts at Carnegie Hall have celebrated the music of Prince, Paul Simon and David Byrne.
