NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 19, 2002

John Zaro, managing member of Bourgeon Capital Management, LLC (BCM), a New York-based investment management firm, today announced that Michael Keohane has joined the firm as a partner.

Keohane, whose primary responsibility will be co-managing BCM's hedge fund, is a former analyst with SAC Capital Advisors, LLC, where he co-managed a $125 million long/short equity hedge fund portfolio. In that role, he was responsible for developing, tracking and implementing long and short consumer sector positions in the portfolio.

"I have known and respected Michael for many years and am extremely pleased that he has decided to join Bourgeon," said John Zaro, BCM managing member who founded the firm three years ago. "The guiding philosophy of our firm is to provide clients with unmatched customer service and strong performance. These are two attributes that Michael has demonstrated throughout his career, and will contribute to our success in the years ahead."

Keohane has over 14 years of experience as an investing professional. He began his career with Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for trading the firm's capital in the municipal bond secondary market. He later joined J.P. Morgan, where he served as vice president and senior equity research analyst, covering the retail and consumer durable sectors. After five years with Morgan, Keohane joined Alliance Capital Management, LP, where he was promoted to senior vice president and portfolio manager. In that role, he co-managed the firm's mid-capitalization growth equity product, which had $1.8 billion of institutional and mutual fund assets.

While Keohane's primary responsibility will be co-managing BCM's hedge fund with John Zaro, he will also provide investment management advice to the firm's clients on an ongoing basis.

"Joining Bourgeon represents an ideal career opportunity," Keohane said. "As a successful, relatively new investment management firm, Bourgeon has tremendous upside potential, both in its investment management and hedge fund businesses. I look forward to helping John grow the firm while also contributing to its strong performance."
