Bounty for killers of QC congressional bet raised to P5 M.

By Alexandria San Juan

The Quezon City Council has raised to P5 million the cash reward for any information on the gunmen who killed Barangay Bagong Silangan chairwoman and congressional bet Crisell Beltran and her driver in an ambush on Wednesday.

Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte announced this Thursday after the city council, in an emergency session, decided to increase the bounty from P3 million to P5 million in a bid to expedite the solution of the case.

"The higher the pot the better," she added.

According to Belmonte, the cash reward will be gathered from any government funds available.

Meanwhile, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) also released on Thursday a facial composite illustration of one of the assailants.

Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel Jr., QCPD director, said the identified suspect was one of the active shooter based on the witnesses' account.

The said gunman apparently took off his helmet to reload his gun before shooting Beltran again.

Based on the description of one of the eyewitnesses, one of the suspects was described as in his 40s, between 5'4" and 5'5" tall, slim, fair complexioned, black hair, and wore long sleeves, black jacket, and long pants.

Police investigators are reviewing other closed circuit television recordings that will help in establishing the identities of the suspects.
