Bouncers is 'sad, hilarious and full of humanity' Theatre.
A MODERN comedy classic is coming to the LBT.
John Godber's Bouncers will be a definitive version directed by its writer and will run from Monday, February 9 to Wednesday, February 11.
Lucky Eric, Judd, Les and Ralph are the original men in black who transform themselves into an astonishing range of characters over the course of one eventful night in a Pontefract disco in the 1980s.
All the gang are out on the town - the boys, the girls, the cheesy DJ, the late-night kebab man and the taxi home, all under the watchful eyes of the bouncers.
Sad, hilarious and full of humanity, Bouncers won the Los Angeles Drama Critics' Circle Award an amazing seven times, and was named as one of the top 100 plays of the 20th century by the National Theatre.
It follows last year's hit revival of Godber's Teechers to the LBT stage.
Directed by John Godber himself, this production has been hailed as 'masterly' by The Stage. It features a cast of talent from the North of England - Adrian Hood (Brassed Off, The Syndicate) as Judd, Frazer Hammill as Les, Robert Hudson (Red Riding, The Bill) as Lucky Eric and Theatre Royal Wakefield's own pantomime Dame Chris Hannon (Lunch Monkeys, Being Sold, Topsy & Tim) as Ralph.
The shows start at 7.30pm with a free post-show question and answer session with the cast on Tuesday, February 10.
Tickets, priced from PS16-PS10/ under 26s PS6/Kirklees Passport holders PS3 off, are available via the box office on 01484 430528 or online at www.thelbt.org.
