Boucher dancers bring back honors.

OXFORD -- The Boucher School of Dance traveled with nine dancers and five dances to Dance Masters America 2014 Ballet Intensive and National Convention July 3-12 at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee, Fla.

BSD was proud to represent and support Dance Masters of New England Chapter 5 March 2014 Title Solo winners Miss Petite, Sydney Ryder, and Miss Teen, Natalie Bolio. This is Natalie's second regional DMNE Title, as she was Junior Miss in 2011. Both title scholarships qualified them for the Dance Masters America National Petite and Teen Title Scholarships, including 13 days of classes, auditions, interview and competition. Miss Petite Sydney Ryder finished ninth, and Miss Teen Natalie Bolio was fourth runner-up.

BSD dancers competed and danced with dancers from all over America, Canada, and Beijing, China. Master classes offered throughout the week, including a ballet intensive, were attended by company dancers Jess Bourassa, Olivia Donnelly, Danielle Gautier, Maranda McCarthy, Dylin McCarthy, Victoria Parr and Jenna Thomas. Junior BSD company dancer Danielle Gautier attended tap class and was awarded the "You Are a Star'' button.

Choreographer Devon Lee Tremblay and dancers Dylin McCarthy, Natalie Bolio and Olivia Donnelly placed fourth overall for "Eulogy;'' Ms. Tremblay placed fifth overall with "Say Something,'' performed by Dylin McCarthy at Nationals.

The Boucher School of Dance of Oxford, owned and directed by Karin McCarthy, has operated in Worcester County for more than 35 years BSD teaches dancers ages 18 months to 18 years in several forms, including ballet and recreational through pre-professional dancers.
