Boston Restaurant Associates, Inc. Announces the Beginning of Construction of Polcari's Located At the Cape Cod Mall, Hyannis.

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 19, 2000

Boston Restaurant Associates, Inc. (NASDAQ: BRAI) (BSE: BNR) Boston Restaurant Associates, Inc. announced that it is constructing an additional Polcari's to open in Hyannis, Massachusetts. It is expected to open in the late fall of this year.

George R. Chapdelaine, President and CEO, said, "We look forward to moving the Polcari's concept onto the Cape and believe that we will be well received in this location. We anticipate opening just prior to the holiday season."

Mr. Chapdelaine went on to say, "As we move into our dynamic expansion phase employees are the single most valuable asset a company has."

BOSTON RESTAURANT ASSOCIATES, INC. owns 13 Pizzeria Reginas and two Polcari's. In addition, the Company also franchises both Pizzeria Regina and Polcari's.
