Boston Lager now found in New York

Until now, beer drinkers in upstate New York had to drive across the Massachusetts or Vermont state borders to sample Samuel Adams Boston Lager. Now, however, the Boston Beer Co.'s brew is available in six New York state counties - Albany, Rensselear, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren and Washington.

"Upstate New York is a logical place to sell my beer," said Boston Beer Co. president Jim Koch. "Many people drive across the state border to buy Sam Adams and now it is available in their own backyards. This month it is being distributed in six counties and I plan to introduce it to other upstate New York locations by the end of the year.'

J.J. Boland will handle the distribution of Boston Lager in Rensselear County, while Decrescente will take the reigns in the five other counties. Additionally, Jeff Hartwell is the company's sales representative in Connecticut and upstate New York.
