MARCO SILVA has addressed the future of Andre Gomes after the midfielder's impressive start to life at Everton.

The Portuguese international made a loan switch from Barcelona on transfer deadline day in the summer, but was forced to wait until the Crystal Palace last month to make his debut due to a hamstring injury.

However, it has not taken long for the 25-year-old to capture the hearts of Evertonians, putting in two brilliant displays on the pitch against the Eagles and Manchester United while also producing some amazing gestures away from the football pitch.

And that has led some supporters to speculate on whether the Toffees will already be thinking of a potential permanent deal for the Barcelona man, with there being no automatic clause to make the move permanent at the end of his loan switch.

However, the Everton manager was coy on the scenario when asked about it, but did confirm that Gomes's situation is one that the club will be monitoring closely.

"Let's see what we can do," Silva told his pre-Brighton media conference (pictured below).

"First, it's really important for me to see how they are enjoying working here and playing in our shirt.

"I think it's really important for me, not just the new players but others as well, that our environment is good and we have a good attitude to work hard every day.

"You are talking about players coming from big clubs and asking how they are enjoying working here, enjoying all the moments I think is important for us.

"It reflects what we are trying to create here, a fantastic group spirit in our dressing room.

"We'll see what will happen in the next months. You always pay attention to the situation and we have to decide in the future what we can do or not."
