Boss in a comic avatar.

Chacha Chaudhary comics featuring Akshay released

BOLLYWOOD superstar Akshay Kumar and the costars of his upcoming biggie, Boss, released a special edition comicbook in the ever- popular Chacha Chaudhary series as part of an unusual promotional campaign for the film.

The event, held at a city fivestar on Monday, was attended by Aditi Rao Hydari, Ronit Roy and Shiv Pandit, who also feature in the film.

The cast first went through the formalities of hardselling their film in an interaction with the press, after which it was time for the release of the comicbook.

Pran, the veteran cartoonist and creator of the iconic Chacha Chaudhary , was invited on stage to join the cast for the grand release of the comics.

The exclusive issue is titled Chacha Chaudhary And Boss, and it was launched in Hindi as well as English. In the special edition comicbook, Akshay appears as a cartoon version of his Boss avatar from the film and goes about solving problems of people along with Chacha and his sidekick Sabu.

The Chacha Chaudhary comicbook series caters primarily to the masses, just like Akshay's new film aims at doing.

Boss is a remake of the 2010 Malayalam blockbuster, Pokkiri Raja. The film casts Akshay as a Haryanvi goon who goes about helping people in distress. It is scheduled to release on Wednesday, October 16.

The issue titled Chacha Chaudhary And Boss was released in Hindi and English
