Boss gets out of a hole lot of trouble.

BOSS the German Shepherd proved he's a lucky dog when he was rescued from a water-filled hole.

The fortunate pooch had to be saved after he took a tumble while walking on a beach near Aberdeen.

Owner Lilian McIntosh, 56, feared the giant guard dog would drown.

However, quick-thinking firemen tied two dog leads together and pulled Boss to safety.

Lilian said: "I am so grateful to the firemen."

The animal's lucky escape occured in the same week that a survey revealed the German Shepherd breed to be the UK's unluckiest dogs.
