Boss Alan hits 'Ruf' Charlton 1, West Brom 1.

Alan Curbishley hit the 'ruf' at rumours that defender Richard Rufus is to to quit Charlton for the Premiership.

The England Under-21 captain had been hotly tipped to join ex-team mate Lee Bowyer at Leeds, but the Charlton boss blasted: "We've had no bids for Richard, from Leeds or any other club."

Rufus said: "It's all speculation at the moment. I'm ambitious to play in the Premiership, but until the boss tells me that I've been sold, then I'll remain a Charlton player."

It was a mix-up between Rufus and keeper Salmon that gifted Taylor a 10th minute goal.

Charlton came out for the second half with guns blazing and were denied until the 70th minute when Carl Leaburn's header beat the brilliant Spink.
