Boro captain asks for a transfer; 60 YEARS AGO People.

GEORGE Hardwick, the Middlesbrough and England full-back and captain asked to be put on the transfer list. It was known that Newcastle were keen to obtain the services of a strong full-back and it was said that Hardwick would suit them to perfection.

HERE'S a picture to make the skin crawl for those who suffer from ophidiophobia or ophiophobia - a fear of snakes.

It has been sent in by Steven Dixon, of Redcar, and was taken in the summer of 1986 in the Dorman Musuem's Childrens' Gallery, Middlesbrough, during a session run by the Museum Club, a community-based programme for youngsters aged 6-14 and ran from 1983-1988.
