Boro's double delight; Junior rugby.

Middlesbrough U-13 v West Hartlepool U-13 MIDDLESBROUGH started well with great rucking from the Middlesbrough forwards.

This created the first try for Jack Willis who used his pace touching down in the corner.

Middlesbrough continued to dominate the first quarter with a further try by George Baker following driving runs by the Middlesbrough forwards.

The ball was passed out to the backs with George overlapping and touching down.

West then came back into the game with an excellent try from their outside centre. He evaded a number of tackles and touched down in the corner.

Middlesbrough then conceded possession which West's backs used to their advantage. Following missed tackles their backs touched down to bring the match level. Half time 10-10 In the first period of the second half Middlesbrough started to take control of the match. Middlesbrough were camped out in the West 22. Jacob Richardson made an excellent break and touched down in the corner.

Middlesbrough withheld pressure from West and won the match.

Full time 15-10 Man of the match was Ross Bishop for his play at outside centre and then as full back in the second half. Try of the match - Jacob Richardson. West Hartlepool U-14 v Middlesbrough U-14 THE game kicked off and the spectators endured the most dire 15 minutes of rugby. Occasionally West would show a bit of skill which helped relieve the tedium. Joe Durant popped in a good couple of tackles and the Boro scrum looked solid. West took a deserved lead before James Wright had a great burst to level the score.

Half-time 7-7 Jack McPhillips and Sam Gaudie were on and off as required and during one foray Jack jogged through for a try. West fought back but James Wright scored another. West scored again but James got his hat trick to seal the match. Final Score 12 - 24 Man of the Match: James Wright scored three, but for a great game at prop, and playing through pain, it has to go to Lewis Boyce.

Middlesbrough U-15: Several Boro players were selected for County Squads; Ollie Hodgson selected for Durham County U16 squad; Jack McTiernan and Josh Walters selected for the North Yorkshire U15 squad. Sunday October 11: Harrogate U-15 v Middlesbrough U-15 Final score 42 - 12
