Borders UK creates new district manager positions.
Bookstore chain Borders UK has merged the operating teams from its Borders and Book Etc stores creating three new district manager roles.
Three store managers have been promoted to the new roles which the company hopes will 'drive sales and improve the customer experience'. The new district managers will work with regional managers Tania Voden (London/South) and James Sneddon (North/Scotland), who will maintain control of the flagship and city centre stores.
Rob Farnworth, Borders UK's operation manager, was responsible for the shake-up claiming that it would ease pressure on the regional managers and increase backing to existing stores as the company continued to grow, reports the Bookseller.
