Booty without cruelty; POSH AND ALEX KICK LEATHER INTO TOUCH..

Byline: By AMBER GRAAFLAND Fashion Editor

FOOTY girls Victoria Beckham and Alex Curran ooze animal magnetism as they step out in their rather kinky boots.

But, believe it or not, they were actually putting their feet down for animal rights.

While five-inch heels and thigh-skimming laces don't exactly scream political correctness, these boots are an environmentally sound choice.

Created by vegetarian clothes designer Stella McCartney, they were made from non-animal by-products - heavy duty lycra, mock suede and rubber.

Part of her 2005 collection, the boots caused a stir when they first appeared on the Paris catwalk.

Although at pounds 480 a pair, buyers need the bank balance of a footballer's wife.

Victoria, 30, certainly looked hot to trot, however, after she strapped herself into some for a shopping trip in Milan.

Close on her heels was rival style queen Alex, 22-year-old girlfriend of Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard, who teamed them with slinky hot pants and glam gold accessories for a night on the tiles.

Only Wayne Rooney's girlfriend Coleen McLoughlin, who still prefers leather, is letting the side down.

Of course, whether Posh ditches her fur-loving favourite designers Roberto Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana remains to be seen.

One thing is for certain, those boots will bring out the animal in David.
