Boothy ready to break his duck.

HUDDERSFIELD Town legend Andy Booth has signed up to kick off a charity event.

The retired centre forward, now club ambassador, will launch 10,000 rubber ducks at the annual Holmfirth Duck Race.

Organised by Huddersfield Pendragon Round Table, the event is in its 27th year and will take place on July 4. It raises thousands of pounds for local charities each year and this year half the proceeds will go to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Pendragon chairman Jonathan Turton said: "We feel very privileged to support such a worthy cause and excited that Andy Booth will be launching the ducks."

Ducks are on sale for pounds 1 each.

Other charities and groups can apply for donations. Visit for details.

As well as the race, there will be fairground rides, stalls, football competition, food and many other attractions
