Boost for PS1.5m link road plans.

PLANS for a new PS1.5m Link Road are set to benefit as part of a package of capital investment announced by the Finance Minister.

The announcement was made yesterday as part of an additional package of over PS46m capital investment to boost infrastructure, skills and boost economic growth across Wales.

PS1.5m provided for the Llangefni Link Road will facilitate increased investment and employment creation within key Enterprise Zone sites in Llangefni.

The Link Road will increase road capacity, connect Coleg Menai and Bryn Cefni Business Park with the A5114 and A55, and will also improve traffic management in the town centre.

Jane Hutt AM said: "The need for targeted investment in infrastructure is well rehearsed and is central to the priorities set out in our Wales Infrastructure Investment Plan.

Infrastructure investment is one of the main contributors to growth and jobs and has a positive impact on the economy.

"Despite our capital budgets suffering a 30% reduction in real terms since 2010 as a result of the UK Government's austerity measures, we have made every effort to maximise our investment and protect capital investment. We have a clear fiscal stimulus approach here in Wales, not fiscal austerity."
