"I'M Anna Richardson and I'm a food addict," declares the presenter of My Great Big Fat Diet Show.

She is hoping she can help viewers shed those unwanted Christmas pounds as the new series starts on Channel 4 tonight.

"It's an appointment to diet really, almost like a diet club on TV," she explains.

"Coming out of Christmas and New Year when everyone is feeling a bit lardy and a bit bloaty, this is going to be a really fun, entertaining and informative show with the main strand being that myself and a group of chubsters are going to attempt to drop a dress size in two weeks."

She managed to lose two stone recently and has written diet books about her experience.

Anna says proudly: "The reason I've successfully done it is because I didn't like the way I looked anymore. I said to myself, 'You've got to get real if you want to get slim'.

"You have to face your greatest fear which is getting on the scales, accepting how much you weigh, looking in the mirror, not liking what you see, and getting real about what you're stuffing in your face."

Despite her wise words, Anna admits that she's taken her eye off the ball recently and let her weight creep up from 9st 7lbs to nearly 10 stone -hence why she's taking part in My Great Big Fat Diet Show. It aims to help people improve their eating habits and head for the healthy snack and not the takeaway.
