Bonus Energy wins major wind turbine contract in the US.

NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-27 March 2001-Bonus Energy wins major wind turbine contract in the US(C)1994-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

The Danish wind turbine manufacturer Bonus Energy A/S has received a major new order from a wind park project in Texas.

Bonus Energy is to supply all 214 wind turbines for the King Mountain Project in Western Texas which will eventually supply power to over 139,000 homes.

The 278 megawatt project has been developed by Renewable Energy Systems Ltd, part of the UK construction group Sir Robert McAlpine, and the US company Cielo Wind Power LLC.

Construction is to begin immediately and the King Mountain wind farm is expected to be fully operational before the end of the year.

The value of the wind turbine order has not been disclosed but the Danish news provider NetPosten Erhverv has estimated it to be around DKK1.5bn.
