Boney M to bring Daddy Cool to Oman.


Boney M, the coolest band of the 70's and 80's, will set the Muscat music scene on fire in February this year. For music lovers, this is one name that will make their hearts skip more than a beat. Boney M came together in 1976 and has since then occupied a special place in the hearts of music lovers the world over, a spokesperson from Black & White magazine, the organizers of the concert said here yesterday. Original band member Maizie Williams will lead an 11-member troupe to Oman. The concert will be held at the grounds of the Seeb-based Oman Automobile Club on Feb. 5, 2015. Boney M's insanely catchy songs mixed with the glitz and glamor of the disco era gave them an incredible run of chart success world over. Their hits includeDaddy Cool, Ma Baker,Mary Boy's Child, Brown Girl in the Ring, Rasputinand their most famous offeringRivers Of Babylon. Boney M have sold over 159 million CDs worldwide, garnering 18 Platinum and 15 Gold Albums and over 200 Gold and Platinum Singles. Their chart domination included three more top Australian singles, Mary Boy Child, the yuletide classic Hooray! Hooray! It's a Holi-Holiday and Gotta Go Home songs make them the most iconic European disco act of the era. Though Boney M made modest beginnings, they soon turned into a major hit with their music. Boney M's music has influences of reggae, funk, rock, gospel and disco. Their songs had distinctive soul soothing melodies and foot tapping beats and this is probably the reason why Boney M's songs were played non-stop at all the discos around the world, music lovers note. Boney M became a sensational hit and remains so till today.
