Bones to be tested.

THE charred skeletal remains found in a field have been removed from the scene for DNA tests.

Results may not be known for some days and gardai say they are keeping an open mind over whether the remains are those of missing mum-of-four Dolores McCrea.

Officers are still searching the area surrounding the farmhouse outside Ballintra, Co Donegal.

The search also focused on the house itself.

Officers searched ditches and hedgerows near the farmhouse in the townland of Bridgetown, a few miles from where Mrs McCrea went missing.

The 35-year-old was last seen alive near her home in Ballintra, Co Donegal, on Tuesday night.

She told her family she was going to play darts with pal in Donegal and would be back later that evening.
