Bomber plans explosive start to season; SPEEDWAY.

CHRIS Harris is desperate to give his season an early momentum boost as he represents Coventry in the Elite League Riders' Championship.

e Bees man is gunning for glory in the prestigious event being held at Leicester on Saturday, March 21 (7.30pm).

e Grand Prix star has been among British speedway's top riders for a number of years yet has so far failed to get his hands on the ELRC crown.

After a number of rostrum nishes, he is eager to go one better this time around and ensure he gives his con-dence a timely boost on the eve of the Elite League season. Harris said: "It's always nice to get a big meeting under your belt early on, and I'm really look-look ing forward to the Elite League Riders' Championship.

"Nobody is going to have had many meetings so that should even things out a little bit, and it's going to be interesting to see how things pan out."

"I've had some good meetings in the ELRC - I've got on the rostrum a number of times but still not managed to win it.

"It's a big meeting and it's one I'd love to win, so hopefully I can change that this time around and come out on top.

"It would be great to start the season o"with a good result, and it would de-nitely give me a lot of momentum heading into the season.

"It's a big year for me and I'm desperate to have a good year, so if I can nd some form and condence early on in the ELRC it would be a big boost."

It is set to be a big start to the year for Harris, who hosts his testimonial meeting, Bomber's Big Bash, at Coventry on Sunday, March 29 (2pm).

Harris added: "ings are going pretty well planning my testimonial, and it should be an exciting afternoon.

"It's a lot of work organising it, but I'm hoping it will be a special afternoon." | Speedway bikes will be back at Perry Barr for the rst time since last June this Wednesday.

Birmingham hold their press and practice day at midday with fellow tenants Cradley Heath going on track at 2pm.

Birmingham hold a 'meet the riders' night in the Harriers Bar at the stadium from 7.30pm on Wednesday and Cradley's season launch is the same night at the Copthorne Hotel in Brierley Hill.
