Boliden AB expects weaker Q2 result due to shutdowns and production stoppages.

NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-6 July 2005-Boliden AB expects weaker Q2 result due to shutdowns and production stoppages(C)1994-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

The Swedish mining company Boliden AB issued on Wednesday (6 July) its production report for the second quarter of 2005, reporting lower production due to maintenance shutdowns and production stoppages.

"The interruptions to production have both reduced revenues from concentrate sales and treatment and refining charges, and increased costs. The operating result for the second quarter is consequently expected to be lower than that reported for the first quarter," Boliden said in a statement.

Despite the weaker second quarter Boliden upheld its previously announced forecast of a healthy full-year result and substantial improvement in free cash flow.
