Body to probe misappropriations in distribution of compensation cheques to tribesmen.

TANK -- Political Agent South Waziristan Agency Zafar Ul Islam Sunday constituted a probe committee to enquire any alleged misappropriations and embezzlement of compensation cheques among tribal's whose houses were damaged completely or partially.

The probe committee was constituted by Political Agency South Waziristan Agency Zafar Ul Islam after receiving reports about misuse of funds and alleged misappropriations and embezzlement in compensation cheques to

the affected families during the operation.

PA Zafar Ul Islam on this occasion said that after the completion of the survey conducted regarding the damages of houses, the government has decided to give Rs. 0.4 million to the completely damaged house and Rs.160,000 to the partially damaged house, however, in the distribution process there were reports of the misappropriations in the distribution process.

There were also reports that some of the alleged officials of the political administration demanded Rs. 15000 to Rs. 20,000 before handing over the compensation cheques.
