Naked Gentle Exfoliating Body Wash

Price: pounds 3.99

THIS clear gel has a lovely lemongrassy scent and has great credentials - it's 97 per cent natural apparently. It contains rice hulls that soften on contact with wet skin, so they're gentle enough for daily exfoliation. However, I did find it a bit too gentle, so probably best for anyone with sensitive skin.

Verdict: Not vigorous enough for me, but might be suitable for more delicate skin types.

Score: 7/10

A'Kin Invigorating Body Scrub

Price: pounds 10.99, available from www.mypure.co.uk

THE really fine beads in this gel don't look like they will do much to tackle the task of ridding you of dead skin cells, but it's actually very effective and gentle at the same time.

The fragrance is quite subtile and the ultra-fine beads are natural diatomaceous earth - whatever that is! It also claims to absorb toxic impurities and excess oils from your skin.

Verdict: Left my skin smooth and glowing.

Score: 9/10

Lush Rub Rub Rub

Price: pounds 5.95

THIS scrub looks rather alarming - it's a dull blue colour - but it's very refreshing and leaves skin wonderfully polished. It uses sea salt to slough off dead skin cells and has a dash of lemon juice and the scent of mimosa blossom. You can also use it as a shampoo if you're pushed for time.

Verdict: Looks scary, but it works!

Score: 9/10

Yes to Carrots Moisturising Body Scrub

Price: pounds 6.99, available from Debenhams

THIS lovely creamy scrub has a nice fresh smell and is packed with vitamin C, carrot seed oil, pumpkin and dead sea mud. It is also paraben free which is a great bonus and left my skin feeling wonderful.

Verdict: Really lovely - and a great name too!

Score: 9/10
