Body of newborn found in garbage bin in Sharjah.

Sharjah: Municipal workers discovered a newborn body dumped in a garbage bin in Al Saja'a area of Sharjah on Thursday morning, a Sharjah Police official said.

Police suspect that the baby boy might have been born as a result of an illicit relationship, and might have been thrown in the garbage by its parent to hide the crime.

The body was found by the municipality's garbage collectors. They immediately reported the incident to the police operation room. A police team, CID officers and forensic experts arrived on the scene of the incident and collected evidence and transferred the body to Al Qasimi Hospital for an autospy.

Al Saja'a Police have launched an investigation into the incident. A Sharjah Police official said they were trying to identify the mother.

The incident is the second of its kind over the last ten days. On March 18, the body of a baby was found dumped between rocks on Al Hira beach. Visitor to Sharjah beach made the grisly find while they were enjoying the day out at the seaside.
