Body found in hunt for hillwalker.

Byline: Record Reporter

THE body of a woman was found yesterday in the search for a missing walker.

Two helicopters, tracker dogs and dozens of mountain rescuers were involved in the hunt for the 54-year-old woman, who was reported missing on Tuesday.

She had failed to return from a walk at Glen Carron in Torridon, Wester Ross.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "The body of a woman has been found during searches for a missing hillwalker in the Torridon mountain range area.

"No formal identification has taken place at this stage. However, the missing woman's next of kin have been kept informed of this development."

Another walker in the Torridon area was airlifted to hospital by an RAF helicopter yesterday after falling and breaking a leg.
