Bodum AG Names New President for Bodum, Inc.
J?rgen Bodum, owner of Bodum AG (worldwide), announced yesterday that Thomas Perez will take over the helm of Bodum, Inc. (USA) as president, effective October 1, 2007. Perez has been managing director for Bodum Australia and Asia Pacific, based in Sydney, for the last four-and-a-half years.
"We are pleased to have experienced great success in the U.S. in the recent years, and our goal is to continue to strengthen our presence in the market. The changes in our organization will support future growth," said Bodum, in a statement.
Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Perez began his career in the tabletop/housewares industry in 1988 as export manager for Europe for the Danish company Royal Copenhagen. He later became the export director for Royal Scandinavia, overseeing 45 countries, including the U.S.A.
In 2000, Perez began working with Bodum in Luzerne, Switzerland, to build the Bodum brand in the export markets. In 2003, he moved to Sydney, Australia, to set up the Bodum organization in New Zealand and Australia with the aim of building the brand in the region. In 2006, after a successful implementation, Perez became responsible for Bodum in Asia and the Pacific.
"I am very excited to have the opportunity to continue the positive growth Bodum has experienced in the U.S. over the last few years and to take the company to the next level, together with our valuable customers and the Bodum USA team," commented Perez.
Nils G?ran Lindblad, current president of Bodum, Inc., will remain active in the company and has decided to leave when his contract runs out next year.
