Bob Dylan set to play Palladium.

The ever-mercurial Bob Dylan yesterday announced he will perform May 16 at The Palladium in Worcester, making the intimate theater show the new launch date for a summer tour that moves on the next day to larger venues in Maine then Canada and Europe.

Dylan last played at The Palladium in 2002. As is the case this time, the show in 2002 was announced shortly before it happened and served as a warm-up to Dylan's return to the Newport Folk Festival the following day.

This Worcester warm-up falls seven months after Dylan performed at the considerably larger DCU Center in Worcester.

Tickets for Dylan's 2002 show at The Palladium sold out in a matter of minutes.

Dylan's May 16 arrival in Worcester effectively doubles the legends quotient in the city that night as B.B. King is scheduled to perform at The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Tickets for the Bob Dylan concert at The Palladium are $56 and first go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday online at

Tickets then go on sale at noon May 9 at F.Y.E. and Strawberries stores and online at, and may also be ordered by telephone, (800) 477-6849.
