Board member appointed. (Northern Appointments).
Environment Minister Chris Stockwell has appointed Greater Sudbury councillor Lionel Lalonde to the board of directors of Waste Diversion Ontario, a new provincial agency set up to promote waste diversion.Lalonde is one of four municipal representatives recommended to the 13-member board by the Association of Municipalities of Ontario. He has been a municipal politician since 1985 and served as the mayor of the Town of Rayside-Balfour for 12 years prior to being elected councillor of Ward 2 in the new City of Greater Sudbury. Lalonde is currently a member of the Greater Sudbury Public Library Board, Greater Sudbury Utilities Inc ,the Greater Sudbury Development Corp. and the Sudbury District Energy Board.
